The University of Miami Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy has collaborated with colleagues around the world for three decades. WHO Collaborating Centres for Bioethics (CCs) are key institutions with relevant expertise in a particular area located all over the world. The University of Miami is one of those key institutions, designated a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre in Ethics and Global Health Policy in 2008, at the time, the third in the world.  
The Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy has initiated a professional development certificate program in partnership with institutions around the hemisphere. The program aims to develop high-quality workshops and symposia for health professionals, researchers, and students.  

The University of Miami Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy faculty has collaborated with colleagues all around the world for 30 years. The Pan American Bioethics Initiative (PABI) was established in 1993 as a mechanism to coordinate the Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy's' efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean.
